Weapons
The Bible teaches that no weapon can stand against us. However, I’m not certain that God ever intended for us to use His word as a weapon against others. Examine the ways Christ used scripture. We definitely need to know what it says and what it means before quoting it. If I find myself quoting (or barking) scripture more as a way to make my point as opposed to using it to lead others to Christ, I just might be weaponizing scripture. That is not God’s intent. While He designed it to be a sword, He didn’t necessarily intend for us to use it as our personal and political knife. I believe there is a definite difference between using God’s word to teach, correct, train, and call attention to sin versus brow beating others with the Bible. What do you think?
